Evelyn B. Aase, 92, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Evelyn B. Aase, age 92, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Holt and Chaplain Monrad Mandsager will officiate. Interment will be in Shady Oaks Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home.

Evelyn died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Evelyn Beatrice Aase was born June 27, 1910, to Carl E. and Martina (Jensen) Olsen in Albert Lea. She was a lifelong resident of Albert Lea. On Nov. 12, 1932, Evelyn was united in marriage to Sigurd Aase at her parent’s home in Albert Lea. She had worked at American Gas Co., had been a grocery clerk, and was a homemaker. Evelyn enjoyed crocheting, needlework, and reading. She was very proud of the blue ribbons she received at the Freeborn County Fair for embroidery she had done at age 90 and 91. Evelyn was also proud of all her grandchildren. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and TOPS Club.

Survivors include daughters: Carole Lohman of Austin, and Peggy Indrelie and husband Dale of Albert Lea; son, Larry Aase and wife Sharon of Albert Lea; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters: Helen Nelson and husband Victor E. of Albert Lea, and Maryetta Hylle of Austin; brother, Norman Olsen and wife Jeanette of Staples, Minn.; sisters-in-law: Myrtle Halden of Waco, Texas, and Helen Olsen of Winona; brother-in-law, Marvin Johnson of Minneapolis; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Elmer, Alvin, and Carlyle; sisters: Edna Collette, Inez Johnson, Shirley Brown, and Dorothy Jensen; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law.
