Services for Marjorie E. Williams, age 88, of Albert Lea, formerly of Fairmont, will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairmont with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.

Marjorie died Saturday afternoon, Aug. 31, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marjorie Elizabeth Selbrade was born Nov. 16, 1913 in Fairmont, the daughter of John and Ida (Alm) Selbrade. She attended school in Fairmont. She was united in marriage to William Rasche in Fairmont. Marjorie worked at Railway Motors and 3M, where she worked for 32 years until her retirement. In September 2001, she became a resident of St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Charity Club. She was also a member of Singles Again Club and The Salvation Army. Marjorie volunteered for many years at the hospital and nursing homes. She had a great love for her home, flowers, canning and baking. She was always willing to help others in need. Marjorie will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Rol of Oakdale, and Marilyn Wessels and husband Duane of Albert Lea; six grandchildren: Scott Wessels and wife Jackie of St. Cloud, Troy Wessels of Albert Lea, Dawn Balzer of Minneapolis, Todd Wessels and wife Sherri of Austin, Holli Waldemar and husband Troy of Albert Lea, and Tara Johnson and husband Ron of Albert Lea; 10 great-grandchildren: Sheena, Courtney, Samantha, Paige, Kaley, Kenzie, Hannah, Riley, Zachary and Brittany; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Gladys Sorenson and Eileen Schmidt; three brothers: Harold Selbrade, Roy Selbrade and Charles Selbrade; and son-in-law, John Rol.

Marjorie touched many lives and will be sadly missed by many friends and greatly missed by those who loved her.
