&uot;The guys played a very competent game tonight,&uot; said coach Jim Haun. &uot;They played within themselves, but by the end of the game we were playing the way we want to play.&uot;

The Tigers dominated play from the outset, outshooting the Packers 31-12 and building a 5-0 lead 10 minutes into the second half.

Jake Levisen opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, blasting a shot from about 25 yards out. Jeremy Jacobson assisted.

Taylor Zimmerman scored two minutes later and it was 2-0 at halftime.

Jacobson scored on an assist from Brady Plantage four minutes to the second half. Jake Clark found the net less than five minutes later, with Nate Lombardi assisting. Less than two minutes after that Justin McGinnis put in a rebound of a shot by Brady Plantage.

Playing especially well, according to Haun, were Jacobson at midfield and defenders Levisen, Joe Squires, Ryan Lowe and Andy Stapleton.

The junior varsity won 3-2 with goals by Conner Keyeski, Cody Otterson and Matt Bennett. The C-squad lost 2-0 the Fairmont High School club team.

The Tigers, 6-6 in the Big Nine and 8-6 overall, travel to Winona Saturday for a 1 p.m. game.
