Erin Dahl plays with kids four days a week and gets high school credit for doing so.

Dahl, who is a junior at Albert Lea High School, is taking the Active Citizen class this quarter. The class requires students to volunteer four days a week. Dahl volunteers at the Albert Lea Community Child Care Center. She works with one-year-old children.

Dahl enjoys the interactions with the children and becoming more of a friend with the kids.

&uot;Every day you come, they are so excited to see you,&uot; Dahl said.

Dahl also enjoys the fact that she gets to leave the high school during the day.

&uot;You get to leave class and do something in the community,&uot; Dahl said.
