Floyd Ross Schultz, 83, New Richland

The funeral service for Floyd Ross Schultz will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19,
at the United Methodist Church, Ellendale. The Rev. David Brown III will officiate. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Albert Lea. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Friedrich Funeral Home, New Richland, and one hour before the service at the church.
Floyd died on Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, at New Richland Care Center, New Richland. He was 83 years old.
Floyd was born in Leland, Iowa, on Dec. 15, 1918, the son of Charles and Emelia (Peterson) Schultz. He attended rural school near Leland.
Floyd met Angeline Kuiper in Hollandale and they were married on July 3, 1939, in Northwood, Iowa. They were members of United Methodist Church where Floyd had served as usher and greeter.
Floyd worked for vegetable farmers near Hollandale from 1939-46. He farmed from 1946-1982 near Manchester, Alden, and finally New Richland. He had worked for Stampers in Wells in 1957, Owatonna Concrete in 1965, managed the Fox Inn in New Richland from 1971-72, and did custom corn shelling from 1970-84. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, tractor pulling and growing gladiolas which he donated to the church.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Angeline of New Richland; five children: Bertha (Gary) Ravnkilde of Waseca, Florence (Roland) Wagner of Elysian, Harlan (Mary) Schultz of Owatonna, Jerry (Kathleen) Schultz Sr. of New Richland, and Judy (Blaine) Lewer of New Richland; 10 grandchildren: Melissa (Jim) Garbers, Sheri (Gregory) Prosch, Darren Schultz, Brian (fianc, Meliss Easton) Wagner, Rebecca (Courtney) Frank, Jerry (Shar) Schultz Jr., Jeffery (special friend, Jennifer) Ravnkilde, Jennifer (fianc, Jason Vogelsang) Schultz, Janda (Dwight) Ferguson, and Trevor Lewer; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Voss of Oglivie, Minn.; and one brother, Carrol Schultz of Andover, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, and two half sisters.
