Memorial services for Henry J. Rhyner, age 75, of Albert Lea, were held at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 15, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. Mike Ellis officiated.

Henry died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at Thorne Crest Retirement Center North.

Henry John Rhyner was born Dec. 3, 1926, to Henry and Venora Rhyner in Alma, Wis. He grew up and attended school in Wisconsin. Henry served in the United States Army during World War II. On Oct. 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Laura Neumeister in Wisconsin. Henry worked as a lineman for Dairyland Power Company, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Church of St. Theodore. Henry enjoyed breakfast at Hy-Vee with his friends. He was a “Mr. Fixit” who enjoyed repairing things for family and friends.

Survivors include his children: Michael Rhyner and his wife Laurie and their children, Lindsay and Tara, all of Rochester; Joan Rhyner of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Jan Field and her husband Doug and their son, Brady, of St. Paul; sisters: Delores Reidt, and Jan Schoen and her husband Roger, all of Alma, Wis.; and a niece and two nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Laura; and daughter, Theresa.
