Pearl G. Anderson, age 77, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with the Rev. Kevin Mackey officiating.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Mittelstadt Funeral Home in Lake Mills, Iowa, and again one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial is at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills.

Pearl Geraldine Anderson was born May 15, 1925, daughter of Martin Gilbert and Cora Mathilda (Lindsey) Enderson, in Freeborn County.

She was baptized by Rev. Myrwang and confirmed by Rev. Magellsen in the Lutheran faith and received her schooling in Albert Lea.

On Feb. 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Lester Selmer Anderson at the East Freeborn Church parsonage.

They moved to Lake Mills where they lived all their lives.

Pearl worked for Deluxe and Larson Manufacturing in Lake Mills and Winnebago Industries in Forest City.

She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of people, she baby sat for many children, was an avid fisherwomen, and enjoyed sports, playing Yahtzee and cards.

She loved flowers and gardening.

She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Otto/Chose Post #235 Legion Auxiliary.

Pearl is survived by her loving children: three sons, Steven and his wife LeAnn Anderson and Leslie Anderson, both of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Craig and his wife Angie Anderson of Forest City, Iowa; five daughters, Judy Anderson of Albert Lea, Sharon and her husband Ray Smith of Osseo, Minn., Cynthia and her husband Kermit Balvance of Forest City, Iowa, Kathleen and her husband Jim Thompson of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Peggy and her husband J. B. Hamersly of Glenville; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Starcevich, Rachelle Dubay, Bradlee Thompson, Matt Anderson, James Hamersly, Emily Hamersly, Derek Aukes, Brice Aukes and Corey Anderson; one great-grandson, Tyler Starcevich; and three sisters: Estella Lucille Kittelson and Phyllis Indrelie, both of Albert Lea, and Kathryn Edmunds of Streeter, Ill.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; one sister, Ethel; one brother, Milton Carlyle; and one son-in-law, Jerry Fjetland.
