This fall season was a photo reverse of last season for the Albert Lea U-14 girls’ soccer team.

The defending fall champions will not repeat. Losses to Eden Prairie, Eagan, Prior Lake and Rochester ended the Elks’ playoff hopes.

&uot;This is not an 0-6 team, so the fall season has been hard mentally,&uot; noted coach Greg Wilson. &uot;The final scores do not accurately represent their quality of play. Individuals have stepped up, improved their skills and increased their competitiveness. However, our opponents have been able to exploit weaknesses in our game and come out on top.&uot;

&uot;Most of our games were winnable,&uot; observed assistant coach Brad Niebuhr. &uot;We were not often dominated. The bright side is the girls did not give up. They reacted to the adversity by becoming mentally tougher and better players. Next summer will be a different story.&uot;

Playing for the fall team were Emma Dahl, Kelli Danner, Holly Falk, Jazz Fitzgerald-Prihoda, Jill Freeman, Allie Leland, Danielle Merfeld, Kristin Nelson, Beth Niebuhr, Chelsey Niebuhr, Samantha Overgaard, Conner Peterson, Cheyenne Quam, Elyce Rehmke, Jackie Rehmke, Kate Schreiber and Kirsten Staloch.
