Adam Weigel, 72, a resident of 403 Fourth St., Rudd, Iowa, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City, Iowa. The Rev. Stanley Hayek will officiate. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Theodore’s Cemetery, Albert Lea. The Charles City Ceremonial Unit will present the flag at the service.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Adam Joseph Weigel was born Nov. 14,1930, in Albert Lea, the son of Christ and Julia (Leanhart) Weigel. He received his education at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Albert Lea. Adam served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1951. On Nov. 15, 1952, he was united in marriage to Beverly Johnson. He had worked at Wilson’s Meat Packing Plant and then for North Iowa Plastering where he retired in 1992. Adam was a member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Albert Lea and the VFW. He enjoyed bird watching, camping and spending time with his family and dog, Pebbles.

Living family members include three sons, Lawrence Weigel and wife Barbara of Austin, Toby Weigel and special friend Trisha Hanson of Rudd, and Randy Weigel and wife Kelly of Mason City; four daughters, Rebecca Jacobsma and husband Gary of Hayward, Minn, Margie Shindelar and husband Charlie of Colwell, Mary Lou Weigel of Rudd, and Debra Martin and husband Jeri &uot;Rick&uot; Martin of Charles City; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul &uot;Swede&uot; Weigel of Albert Lea, Francis &uot;Shorty&uot; Weigel and wife Helen of Arizona, and Dominic Weigel of Black Duck, Minn.; two sisters, Catherine Callahan of Browerville, Minn. and Marie Pick of Waldorf, Minn.; and his beloved dog, Pebbles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and three sisters.
