Curtis Henry Wacholz, 56, Delano

Curtis Henry Wacholz, age 56, of Delano, formerly of Wells, died on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at his home of a massive heart attack. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002 at Mansfield Lutheran Church in rural Alden, with the Rev. Don Rose officiating. Visitation will be at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells today from 5-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at the Mansfield Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by the Freeborn County Veterans Organization.

Curtis was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Alden, the son of Henry and Margaret (Meyer) Wacholz.

Curtis was baptized at Mansfield Lutheran Church and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. He graduated from Wells High School in 1964 and enlisted in the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a member of the Alden American Legion. Curt was employed with Durabilt in Rockford, Minn. He enjoyed working outdoors, fishing, hunting, traveling and visiting with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and was a very loving and caring man.

He is survived by one brother, Duane (wife Loretta) Wacholz of Alden; one sister, Marilyn (husband Gene) Kruger of Beaverton, Mich.; special friend Faye Mitchell and her daughters Kim and Cindy of Delano; six aunts, Viola Mattick of Kiester, Velva Outhoudt of Winnebago, Mildred Meyer of Stewartville, Sarah Doppelhamer of Albert Lea, Esther Doppelhamer of Albert Lea, and Irma Leland of Bricelyn; one uncle, Orlando and his wife Evangelene Meyer of Walters; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Henry in 1958, and mother Margaret in 1992, and numerous aunts and uncles.
