Idoris J. Lenz, 80, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Idoris J. Lenz, age 80, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at First Presbyterian Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be in Shady Oaks Cemetery. Visitation is 4 – 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Idoris died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center.

Idoris Johanna Lenz was born Oct. 28, 1922, to Gustav Adolph and Olga Fernanda (Erickson) Hanson in Scarville, Iowa. She attended School District #102. On July 20, 1941, Idoris was united in marriage to Stanley F. Lenz in Albert Lea. They farmed in Nunda Township until 1981 before moving to an acreage near Emmons. Stanley and Idoris became residents of Albert Lea in 1997. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea before joining First Presbyterian Church in the late 1940s. Idoris was a member of the Sons of Norway and the Clover Valley Home Extension Group. She was a past president of the Emmons PTA and had been a Deaconess of First Presbyterian Church and secretary of the Shady Oak Cemetery Assn. Idoris enjoyed painting, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley of Albert Lea; sons, Larry and his wife Delores of Algona, Iowa, and Lonny and his wife Laurie of rural Albert Lea; three grandchildren, Jason, Derek, and Lanae Lenz; sisters, Nylene Wasmoen of Albert Lea and Gladys Reindal of Alden; and nieces and nephews.

Idoris was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Olga Hanson, and brothers-in-law, George Wasmoen and Owen Reindal.
