Terry Arden Smith, 65, Hollandale

The funeral service for Terry Arden Smith will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. George Marin will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, in Trinity Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Sandstone, Minn. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #151 of Sandstone.

Terry died on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 65 years old.

Terry was born in Albert Lea on Jan. 6, 1937, the son of Virgil and Dolly (Greeley) Smith. He was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. Following high school, Terry served with the U.S. Army, being stationed in Hawaii.

On July 28, 1973, Terry was united in marriage with JoAnn Carol Rostberg in Sandstone. During his life Terry had lived in Albert Lea, Iowa, Rochester, and finally, Hollandale since 1989. He had worked at Gopher Aviation in Rochester, and Enderes Tool and Streater in Albert Lea. He was presently a self-employed tool and die maker working out of his home.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed restoring vintage vehicles and riding motorcycles. Time spent with his family was very special to him.

Terry is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Hollandale; three children, Rebecca Bass and her husband, Joe of Mason City, Iowa; Daniel Smith of Albert Lea; and David Smith of Hollandale; mother, Dolly Nelson of Albert Lea; one brother, Bradford Smith and his wife, Arlene of St. Cloud; mother- and father-in-law, Melvin and Dorothy Rostberg of Hinckley; three brothers-in-law, John Rostberg and his wife, Chris of Eagan, Jim Rostberg and his wife, Kathy of Isanti, and Marvin Rostberg of Sandstone; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Sylvester and her husband, John of Sandstone, and LaDonna Lyon and her husband, Fred of Hinckley; nieces and nephew.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Virgil in 1951.
