Freeborn County deputies arrested an Albert Lea man Wednesday in connection with a Thanksgiving-day murder in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, according to the sheriff’s department.
Eric Douglas Esse, 33, of Albert Lea, was arrested around 5 p.m. in Albert Lea on a warrant for first-degree murder and robbery issued by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
He was wanted in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Tim Mammen, who was fatally shot in the head on Thanksgiving in rural Plymouth, Iowa, officials said.
Esse is in the Freeborn County jail awaiting an extradition hearing, which will take place this week.
