Barber gives time as head of local humane society

Jennifer Barber has always had an affectionate side for animals. She grew up around cats and dogs all of her life.

Barber is the director of the Humane Society of Freeborn County, which is a volunteer position. Barber started with the Humane Society as a foster parent for cats. After she left for a while she came back as the director and

animals up with foster homes and, most importantly, helps people adopt animals. This last service is what Barber enjoys the most out of her volunteer work.

&uot;I like it when we find animals homes &045; the right homes,&uot; she said.

The Humane Society of Freeborn County is in need of volunteers to provide foster homes and help with other aspects of keeping the society functioning. For more information in how to help, visit the society’s Web site at
