Clements Fremont Henle, 86, Tucson, Ariz.

Clements Fremont Henle passed away on Dec. 21, 2002, at St. Mary’s Hospice, Tucson, Ariz.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1916, to Anton and Ida Nehls Henle in New Ulm. When he was 16 the family moved to Albert Lea where he finished his schooling and graduated from Albert Lea High School. He drove the city bus for awhile. In 1940 he left Minnesota for California and spent the rest of his working years at North American Aviation, which later became Rockwell International, and is now Boeing North American. He was involved in the building of the famous Mustang Fighter Plane of World War II, the B-70 and B-I Bombers. He also worked at the space division on the Apollo Program, which put a man on the moon.

He enjoyed traveling the USA, photography, playing golf, growing beautiful roses, and his two precious Doxies, Baron and Brendi. He was an avid sports fan, reader, and a crossword puzzle fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

In 1941, he was united in marriage in Inglewood, Calif., to Maxcene Ewald, daughter of the late Robert and Anna Lau Ewald.

He leaves his wife of 61 years; and his only son, Gary of Green Valley, Ariz. He also leaves one brother-in-law, Glenn (Eleanor) Ewald of Woodland, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Arlene (Kenneth) Williamson of Glenville, Laurie (Bob) Berg of Austin and Green Valley, Ariz., and Marilyn (Paul) Grasdalen of Albert Lea; eight beloved nieces and nephews; also a dear cousin in Culver City, Calif., Helen Reis Schmitt (Smitty) Kathy and Butch.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church. Service will be held at Adair Funeral Home, Dodge Chapel, in Tucson with burial at Holy Hope Cemetery, also in Tucson.
