Grant Elsmore Gullickson, 84, Austin

Grant Elsmore Gullickson, age 84, of Austin, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at the Austin Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Blooming Prairie to Henry and Amanda (Gunderson) Gullickson. He attended area schools, then served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW, Post 1216. On Nov. 11, 1945 he was married to Lorraine J. Gunderson at his sister’s home near Ellendale. Grant worked for many years at Borgesen Construction of Austin and at potato and onion warehouses in the Hollandale area. He grew vegetables on his acreage and enjoyed selling them at the Austin Farm to Market. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Austin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church with the Rev. Glenn L. Monson officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Lutheran Cemetery, Oakland. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin, today from 4-8 p.m., and at the church for one hour before the service on Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine J. Gullickson of Austin; sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Gayle Gullickson of Austin, Glen and Cheryl Gullickson of Rochester,

Daryl and Terese Gullickson of Austin, and Vernell Gullickson of Austin; daughter, Joyce Gullickson of Austin; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters: Alice Underland of

Owatonna, Grace Miller of Austin, and Rosella Collier of Monroe, La.; and many nieces and nephews.
