Rose Kjos, 85, of Owatonna, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Owatonna Hospital.

She was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Summit Township, near Blooming Prairie the daughter of Edward and Rose (Hanzlicek) Ruzek. Rose married Clarence Kjos, Nov. 2, 1935 in Nashua, Iowa. He was a butter maker and they lived at the Bancroft Creamery near Albert Lea until 1939. They moved to the Union Creamery near Blooming Prairie in 1939 and were there until 1957 when they moved to Owatonna. Rose worked for the public school system as a cook and server for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Survivors include Ronald and Jean Kjos (son) of Faribault, Minn., Janice and James Schmidt (daughter) of Owatonna, Minn., Judy and Jerry Drevlow (daughter) of Owatonna, Minn., Gary and Martha Kjos, (son) of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Eileen and Elmer Jannings (sister) of Blooming Prairie, Minn. Sylvia Panzer (sister) of Owatonna, Minn., five grandchildren nine great-grandchildren one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, her parents, four brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The Rev. John Lestock will be officiating. Burial will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
