The snowfall on Thursday night caused at least 15 traffic accidents in Albert Lea by the end of following day.
According to the Albert Lea Police Department, the accidents were concentrated on the night before the roads were plowed. Only one accident involved injuries, and the rest were mostly minor.
Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a Pontiac GP coming from East Front Street to Garfield Avenue lost control and went into the other lane. A 79-year-old Albert Lea woman driving south could not avoid the collision. She and a 72-year-old passenger were taken to Naeve Hospital. The police are looking for the Pontiac which fled from the scene.
