William Lowry Treit, 79, San Diego, Calif.

Burial services for William Lowry Tveit of San Diego, Calif., will be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Oakland, Minn.
Bill died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, in San Diego. He was 79 years old.
Bill was born on Sept. 28, 1923, in Albert Lea, and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1940. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years, retiring on a disability in 1962. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal in 1952 during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret Kinter of Northfield, Minn.; one niece, Jan (Jerry) Van Thomme and sons, Adam and Reid of Faribault, and Sue Kinter and family of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Grace Tveit; two sisters: Nancy Tveit and Marcia Cipra; brother-in-law, Bill Kinter; and nephew, Jeff Kinter.
Memorials are preferred to the heart or cancer funds.
