The memorial service for Amber Ann (Kruse) Sorenson of Albert Lea will be held at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Lissa Kahl will officiate. Interment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Luverne, Minn., at a later date.

Amber died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland. She was 93 years old.

She was born on Aug. 25, 1909, in Beaver Creek, Minn., to Henry and Minnie Kruse.

Amber married Russell A. Sorenson on May 30, 1943. They lived in Albert Lea until they retired and moved to Forsyth, Mo. Amber returned to Albert Lea after Russell’s death in 1984.

She is survived by one son, Rodney Sorenson; one daughter, Sandra Battier; one sister, Caralyne Yother; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; two brothers and two sisters.
