Duane Ellingson, 77, Glenville

Funeral services for Duane Ellingson, age 77, of Glenville, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The Rev. Daniel Baker will officiate. Interment will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Duane died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center.
Juell Duane Ellingson was born Feb. 21, 1925, to Seymour and Molly (Winden) Ellingson in Hanlontown, Iowa. He was a graduate of Hanlontown High School. As a young man, Duane worked as a hired hand. On Nov. 2, 1955, Duane was united in marriage to Betty Marie Tews. He had lived on the same farm most of his life. Duane had been employed at Streaters, retiring after 15 years, and was also a paper carrier. Duane was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fixing anything mechanical.
Survivors include his daughters: Cindy and husband Lee Rolfs of Sussex, Wis., and Sandy Nelson of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Tammy Joecks, Bradley Joecks, Timothy Ellingson, and Scott Rolfs; step grandchildren: Benjamin Rolfs and Andrew Rolfs; sisters: Mavis Nelson and husband Dwight and Nola Anderson and husband Andy; nieces and nephews; and step sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Seymour and Molly Ellingsen; wife, Betty; brother, Roger Ellingson; stepbrother, Leo Anderson; and other beloved family members.
Duane was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
