Mildred M. Flom, 85, Faribault

Mildred (Mrs. Marvin) M. Flom, age 85, of Faribault, died on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, in the North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. in the First English Lutheran Church, Faribault, with the Rev. David J. Hurtt, visitation pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Moland Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Kenyon.

Visitation will be in the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, today, Jan. 14, from 4-8 p.m., and also in the church for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.

Mildred Marion, daughter of James and Bertha (Mittelstadt) Young was born on Jan. 13, 1917, in Havana Township, Steele County. She married Marvin T. Flom on Oct. 12, 1940, in Northwood, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1982. She was formerly employed by St. Lucas Care Center, Moose Lodge, Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf, Faribault Regional Center, Farmer Seed and Nursery, Andrews Nursery and Randy’s Meats, all of Faribault.

She is survived by six children: Sharon (and William) Dixon of Faribault, Sandra (and Gerald) Hanson of Rosemount, Dennis (and Kristen) Flom of Albert Lea, James (and Cheryl) Flom of Owatonna, Roger (and Dianne) Flom of Faribault, and Judy (and Brian) Wilson of Faribault; nine grandchildren: Tammy Springer, Tracy Ermer, Laura Carter, Scott Hanson, Cheryl King, Valerie Howe, Amy Roberts, Ryan Flom and Dereck Flom; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Edna Kelm of St. James, and Shirley Thamez of Waseca; and one brother, Rodney (and Lorna) Young of Lake Havasu, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by one sister, June Dunlap; two brothers: James and Neil Young; and also two sisters in infancy.
