Funeral services for Shirlene (Hestness) Young, 65, were held Monday, January 6 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Garner, Iowa.

Shirlene Faye Young was born in Lake Mills, Iowa to Clarence and Albena (Hestad) Hestness Feb. 17, 1937. She graduated from Lake Mills High School. She married Francis Young on Aug. 16, 1955 in Forest City, Iowa. They lived in Minneapolis, Mankato, Albert Lea and then to Garner, Iowa.

She is survived by her husband, Francis Young of Garner; son Daniel Young of West Des Moines, Iowa; daughters Leslie Tighe (Richard) of Las Vegas, Nev., Jean Klumpp (Michael) of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Carol Haan (Bryan) of Biloxi, Miss. and nine grandchildren; sister Vivian Brudvig of Scarville, Iowa; brothers Elwood Hestness (Valta) and Adrian Hestness (Yvonne) of Albert Lea, Jerry Hestness (Dorothy) and Gene Hestness (Marie) of Mason City, Iowa; sister-in-law Gladys Hestness of Rosemount.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Virgil Hestness and a sister Mavis Cornick.
