Arlene Rose Reindl, 79, Blue Earth

A Mass of Christian burial for Arlene Rose Reindl will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, 315 E. Clark St., Albert Lea. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Theodore’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at the Bonnerup Funeral Service, 525 W. Clark St., Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church. A prayer service will be held 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Arlene died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at United Hospital, Blue Earth. She was 79 years old.

Arlene was born May 26, 1923, on a farm north of Manly, Iowa, the youngest of four children born to Mandius and Bertha (Anderson) Forland. She was a 1941 graduate of Manly High School. On Oct. 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to Ivan John Reindl at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly. Shortly after their marriage, Arlene and Ivan moved to Albert Lea where they made their home on East Seventh Street for 58 years.

Arlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Ivan in April 1999. Since Ivan’s passing, she has resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Ilene and Jim Sukalski, on their farm south of Blue Earth.

She was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women Guild # 3. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and a member in the Albert Lea Moose Lodge Auxiliary. Arlene worked during World War II as a punch press operator for the American Gas Company and made many friends and acquaintances as an Avon sales representative. Arlene greatly enjoyed her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Arlene is survived by three children: Ilene Sukalski and her husband Jim of Blue Earth, Nicolas of Brainerd, and Douglas and his wife Darnell of Clarks Grove; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Troy Sukalski and his wife Christine and their children, Stephanie, Joseph and Kenric, of LeRoy, Minn., Tara and her husband Major Joel Rauenhorst and their children, Rachel, Cassandra and Kyle, of Temecula, Calif., Clark Sukalski of St. Peter, Phillip and Dennis Reindl, of Fargo, N.D., and Trisha and Brian Reindl of Clarks Grove; one sister, Janet Jackson and her husband Delbert of St. Maries, Idaho; sister-in-law, Vallie Forland of Northwood, Iowa; brother-in-law, Claud and his wife Joan of Cedar Falls, Iowa; sisters-in-law: JoAnn Reindl of Heath, Ohio, Iva Dene Reindl of Manly, Iowa, and Fran Reindl of Great Neck, N.Y.; as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; brother, Lawrence Forland; and sister, Mathilda Jorgensen-Llyford.
