Brandon Lynn Hugo, age 20, of Scarville, Iowa, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Scarville, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. today, Feb. 4, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, Iowa, with the Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Monday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Scarville, Iowa.

Brandon Lynn Hugo was born April 1, 1982, at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. He was the son of Doug and Angie (Reindal) Hugo. He was baptized at the Methodist Church in Thompson, Iowa, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scarville. He attended Lake Mills Community School and graduated with the Class of 2001.

Brandon loved life. He was a proud member of the Scarville Fire Department and working towards certification. He was active in many school and community activities. He participated in football, basketball, baseball and FFA while in high school, and was a member of the Spartan Cheerleaders. He also participated in an adult summer softball league. Brandon was an avid member of the &uot;Derby Dogs,&uot; as he loved the sport of figure 8 racing and demolition derbies. Brandon most enjoyed time spent on the farm with his dad and grandfather. He looked forward to his future in farming as well as being a carpenter.

Brandon was a friend to all. He could always be found conversing with someone ages 1 to 100. He will be greatly missed by many loving family members, friends, classmates, and acquaintances.

Brandon is survived by his parents; one sister, Alyssa and her friend Rob Nelson of Lake Mills; his love, Lanae Lenz of Conger; grandparents: Marty (Buckner) Reindal of Scarville, and Melvin (Pete) and Nancy Hugo of Algona, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Jeff and Lorie Hugo of Joice, Iowa, Steve Hugo of Woden, Iowa, John and Tammy (Hugo) Barker of Titonka, Iowa, Mark and Jill Lichter of Algona, Dana and Julie Aschenbrenner, of Chicago, Ill., Donald and Sue (Reindal) Ostrander of Lake Mills, Iowa, and Jeff and Jayne (Reindal) Miller of Derby, Iowa; and cousins: Jessica and Justin Hugo, Laura and Daniel Hugo, Stephanie and Nick Barker, Alex and Emma Lichter, Joe, Sam, and Jon Aschenbrenner, Jeremy Ostrander and his friend Andrea Cannon,

Nathan Ostrander and his friend Chelsey Peterson, and Sarah (Ostrander) Heath and her children Rylan and Karissa, Miranda, Torren, and Tristan Miller.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Norma Hugo; aunt, Stephanie Hugo; grandfather, Russel Reindal; and uncle, Greg Reindal.
