C. Charles Lowery, 71

Funeral services for C. Charles Lowery, age 71, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Charles died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at St. Frances Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Chuck was born July 16, 1931, to Clayton and Marvel (Johnson) Lowery in Elmore, Minn. He graduated from Elmore High School in 1948. Chuck served in the United States Navy. He then attended Luther College. In 1952, Chuck was united in marriage to LaVonne Olson in Rake, Iowa. He was a assistant administrator at Naeve Hospital and administrator at the Medical/Surgical Clinic, administrator of the Bemidji Clinic, and was also employed by the University of Minnesota as a clinical management coordinator. Chuck loved fishing, had been active in the Albert Lea Rotary, had been a past president of First Lutheran Church, and was active in Community Theater.
Survivors include daughter, Heidi and husband Randy Hammerschmidt of Chaska; grandson, Ryan; sister, Donna Nelson of Wells; sister and brother-in-law, George and Donna Feuerhelm; niece, Stacey and husband Scott Hanna; nephew, Nathan Feuerhelm; nephew, Brian Nelson; nephew, Mark and wife Terry Nelson; niece, Teri Nelson; nephew, Dean and wife Linda Koppen; and mother-in-law, Minnie Olson.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVonne; sister, Darlene; and nephew, Scott Feuerhelm.
