Memorial services for Don Amsden, age 82, will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Friends may visit the family one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.

Don died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at the New Richland Care Center.

Donald E. Amsden was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Milbank, S.D. He graduated from Milbank High School and entered the service in 1942. Don served in the medical department attached to the Army Air Force for 42 months. He was a member of the American Legion and served as commander in Maynard, Minn. Don was a longtime employee of United Building Center.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Mary and husband Bob Krogsgaard; granddaughters: Laura Krogsgaard, and Tracy and husband Jim Wilson; sisters: Dolores Youngdahl and Dorothy Sturm; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers, and two sisters.
