Ten area wrestlers qualify for state tournament

Ten area wrestlers have qualified for the Minnesota state high school tournament.

United South Central had seven individuals advance through the Section 3A tournament: Brian Wood, 103 pounds; Kenny Sandt, 119; Chance Carlson, 135; Chris Adams, 140; John Niebuhr, 145; Steven Wood, 189; and Matt Linder.

Three NRHEG wrestlers advanced through Section 2A: Anders Mattson, 145; Kaleb Jacobson, 171; and James Petsinger.

NRHEG has also qualified as a team.

The state tournament is Thursday-Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
