Violet M. Peterson, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Violet M. Peterson, age 84, formerly of Twin Lakes, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Lunder Cemetery. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
Violet died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Violet M. Peterson was born Nov. 20, 1918, to Harry and Jessie (Penrod) Towne in Twin Lakes. She attended School District #76. On June 15, 1945, Violet was united in marriage to Robert Peterson in Glenville. She worked with Bob on the family farm. Violet enjoyed cooking, canning, and making and decorating cakes with her sister, Lauretta. She was a member of Lunder Lutheran Church and was very involved in many church activities.
Survivors include sisters: Lauretta Gavle of St. John’s, and Vern Peterson of Albert Lea; brothers: Earl Towne and wife Dorothy of Emmons, Howard Towne of St. John’s, and Wallace Towne of Hartley, Iowa; sister-in-law, Rubelle Towne of Baudette; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brothers, Glen, Donald, Marvin, and Lloyd; and nephew, Willis Lehman.
