Chester Melvin Beving, 89, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Chester Melvin Beving, of 622 E. Seventh St., Albert Lea, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in the Wadena Cemetery, Wadena, Minn. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Chester died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center. He was 89 years old.
Chester was born Aug. 19, 1913, at Parkers Prairie, Minn., to John W. and Maude (Wells) Beving. He married Marian Larson on Dec. 5, 1943, at Bertha, Minn. After their marriage, they lived at Willmar, then moved to Albert Lea in 1952 where he worked in construction for Sorenson Construction as a construction supervisor, and later worked for Wilson and Company as a construction supervisor. Chester was an usher at First Lutheran Church where he belonged. Chester was a member of the Golden K II Kiwanis Club and served as president in 1992. Chester was a member of the Elks and was a avid sportsman and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed reading.
Chester is survived by his wife, Marian Beving of Albert Lea; daughter, Darlene Nelson of Mason City, Iowa; three granddaughters; one grandson; two great-grandsons; brother, Ray &uot;Paul&uot; Beving and his wife Lois of Spring Valley, Minn.; and sister, Anna Dull and her husband Allyn of St. Cloud.
Chester will be sadly missed and loved by his many nieces and nephews.
Chester is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Lucille Charchenko and Donna Alt; and two brothers: Richard and John Beving.
