George E. Peterson, 66, Albert Lea

The funeral service for George E. Peterson, 1416 Academy Ave., Albert Lea, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, March 28, at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church.

George died at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2003. He was 66.

He was born on July 7,1936, in Albert Lea, the son of George and Laura (Grinolds) Peterson.

He married Murdy Walter on Sept. 12, 1959, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jackson, Minn.

He served our country in the U.S. Army from December 1956 to December 1958.

He was employed at Enderes Tool Company in Albert Lea for more than 30 years. George was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, and was also a member of the Elks Club.

Family was the most important thing in George’s life. He loved his daughters and their families.

He is survived by two daughters and their families: Debra Edwin and her fianc Rich Enz and her daughters, Brittany, Kate, and Lynzie, and Laura and her husband Andy Hall and their children, Jacob and McKenzie, all of Albert Lea; brothers and sisters: Betty and her husband Lee Abben of Albert Lea, David Peterson of Austin, Tom Peterson of Albert Lea, Carol Gilderhus of Albert Lea, and Kathy and her husband Gene Pacovsky of Albert Lea; sister-in-law, Jan Schultz of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother-in-law, Herb Miller of Jackson, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Murdy, in 1995; sister, Barb Armstrong; brothers-in-law: Larry Gilderhus and Roy Schultz; and sister-in-law, Vera Miller.
