Janis Reeder, 70, rural Albert Lea

Funeral services for Janis Eileen Reeder, age 70, of rural Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today, March 30, 2003, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Janis died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Thorne Crest North.

Janis Eileen Reeder was born Oct. 23, 1932, to Edgar and Audres V. (Waage) Bachtle in Des Moines, Iowa. The family moved to Albert Lea where Janis attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1950. On June 6, 1950, Janis was united in marriage to Stephen N. Reeder at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, sewing and crafting, cooking and baking and was involved in many church activities. Janis especially enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include daughters: Sheryl and husband Mick Delger, Debra Reeder, LeAnn and husband Steven Anderson, Nancy and husband Robert Knutson, and Catherine (Cathy) Reeder; son, Richard (Dick) and wife Brenda Reeder; grandchildren: Brad Delger, Leslie Delger, Paul and wife Heather Anderson, Chad Anderson and fiance Val Patterson, Carolyn and husband Ryan Rasmusson, Eric and wife Carla Knutson, Nicole and husband Brandon Behne, Ben Knutson and special friend Heidi Wangsness, Jaden Reeder, and Deke Reeder; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Anderson, Chloe Anderson, Anthony Rasmusson, Sydney Rasmusson and Hunter Knutson; sister Darlene and husband Arnold Anderson; brothers: Arliss and wife Maxine Bachtle, Gary and wife Molly Bachtle, and Lanny and wife Joan Bachtle; step father, Orville Tufte; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen N. Reeder; mother, Audres Tufte; father, Edgar Bachtle; and infant brothers, Ronald Bachtle and Thomas Tufte.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all.
