Marie M. Johnson, age 86, of Delavan, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Delavan with the Rev. John Traufler officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Easton. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

She was a graduate of Wells High School. On Sept. 4, 1941, she married Don E. Johnson at Easton. They farmed and raised their family at rural Delavan. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Rosary Society, and taught religious education. She was also a member of the Prescott Club and past member of the Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by her husband, Don E. Johnson of Delavan; daughter, Cleone and her husband Bruce Benson of Westby, Wis.; daughter, Kathy Waltermire of Marshalltown, Iowa; daughter, Mary Alyce and her husband Loren Grasdalen of Albert Lea; daughter, Beverly and her husband David Schreiber of Columbus, Neb.; daughter, Marilyn and her husband Richard Lowery of Omaha, Neb,; son, John Colin and his wife Barbara Johnson of Stillwater; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Carol; one grandson, Nicholas Lowery; one son-in-law, Rodney Waltermire; and two brothers.
