Robert G. Lueck, 74, Ceylon, Minn.

Services for Robert G. Lueck, age 74, of rural Ceylon, Minn., will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon, with the Rev. Russell Reimers officiating. Burial will be in Tenhassen Cemetery in rural Ceylon.

Bob died on Sunday morning, March 2, 2003, at his home in rural Ceylon.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the church. Services were entrusted to the care of the Kramer Family Funeral Home.

Robert George Lueck was born Oct. 3, 1928, to Henry and Johanna (Lohse) Lueck in Manyaska Township, Martin County, Minn. He attended Welcome High School. On April 26, 1948, he entered the United States Navy, serving until his honorable discharge on March 6, 1950. On Dec. 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Arlene Werner in rural Blue Earth. After their marriage, Robert was employed at Nelson Ice Cream Company and Marigold Dairy. He was then employed for W. Hodgman and Sons and later for the Fairmont Railway Motor until his retirement in 1993. Bob was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon, the Ceylon Wood Carvers and the Minnesota Trappers Association. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing trapping and playing cards.

Bob is survived by his wife, Arlene of rural Ceylon; a son, William and his wife Peggy of Albert Lea; three daughters: Peggy Lueck of Fort Worth, Texas, Doris Lueck of rural Ceylon, and Penny Burns of Oklahoma, City, Okla.; 11 grandchildren: Jody and her husband Mark Schmidt of Okinawa, Wendy Plath of San Antonio, Texas, Jason Plath of Welcome, Kim Rasche of rural Ceylon, Dustin Lueck of Harmony, Damon Lueck of Rochester, Kasey Lueck of Albert Lea, Matthew Courtney of St. Paul, Amber Courtney of St. Paul, Adam Padron of Waxahachie, Texas, and Jakeb Burns Of Baytown, Texas; five great-grandchildren: Tyler and Lindsey Schmidt, Courtney and Alex Detert, and Cody Lueck; three brothers: Jack Lueck and his wife Verna of rural St. James, James Lueck and his wife Violet of Indianapolis, Ind., and Roger Lueck and his wife Helen of Fairmont; four sisters: Ella Jane Zehms and her husband Bob of Brooklyn Center, Lois Van Riper of Fairmont, Mary Ann Wohlhuter and her husband James of Welcome, and Judy Buhmann and her husband Elmer of Fairmont; two brothers-in-law: Everett Werner and his wife Marjean of Delevan, and Lawrence Werner and his wife Marie of Hill City, Minn.; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Bauer and her husband Gene of Hill City, and Alice Pollock of Visalia, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two brothers: Max and Dennis Lueck, and other relatives.

The family prefers memorials to FCH Hospice.
