Two charged in break-in, fight at Albert Lea house

Two St. Paul man were charged with first-degree burglary Monday in connection with an assault at Albert Lea house March 8.
Maurice Donnell Young, 27, and Walter Lapree Jordan, 28, allegedly forced their way into the house at 730 Alcove St. and wrestled with a man who tried to stop them.
According to the criminal complaint, Young and Jordan drove to the house with James Dwight Douglas, 32, of 221 East Pearl St. Douglas had two knives in his hands and injured the 18-year-old man in the house on his head and arms. Douglas was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.
According to the investigation, the three men and group in the house had a fight several weeks before the incident.
Judge James Broberg reduced Douglas’s bail amount to $50,000, based on a bail study by the Department of Corrections, and set the same amount for the other two.
