Ethel Jerdet, 88, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Ethel Jerdet, of Albert Lea, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, April 5, at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna.
Mrs. Jerdet died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. She was 88 years of age.
Ethel was born April 3, 1914, in Blooming Prairie, the daughter of Frank and Alma Faltejsek. She graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1931. She had her teacher’s training in Owatonna in 1932. She also attended Mankato State Teachers College, Winona State Teachers College and Mankato Commercial College.
She was united in marriage to Ruthven L. (Rut) Jerdet on Aug. 23, 1947 in Blooming Prairie.
Ethel was an active member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Church Women. She was employed at the Josten’s Company from 1939 through 1940. She then worked as a bookkeeper for the Albert Lea Medical Center for many years. Ethel was also a teachers’ aide at the Lakeview School for many years.
Ethel is survived by many friends and students whose lives she touched over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
