Holiday Lanes is hot again.
Albert Lea’s bowling alley, the site of many 300 games in sanctioned league competition the last several years, had three more in recent action.
Dale Franks, Bob Stehlik and Jason Eikmeier are the latest to join the 300 club, bringing to eight the number of perfect games at Holiday Lanes this season. There have also been eight 299 games, according to manager Loren Kaiser.
&uot;That’s kind of unusual to have that many 299s,&uot; said Kaiser. &uot;Usually, we have eight or nine 300s and only two or three 299s.&uot;
For Franks, of Wells, the 300 game was his second, and it came in the Mercantile Men’s League on Thursday night. His career-best series is 801.
Stehlik, Albert Lea, got his first career 300 game in the 8-Ball League, also on Thursday, when he rolled a career-high series of 770.
Eikmeier’s 300 was his second, the first coming in a youth state tournament. The latest was in the Wednesday night Classic League. His lifetime-best series is 724.
A total of six bowlers have rolled 300 games at Holiday Lanes this season. Steve Barrett did it four times.
The most 300 games Holiday Lanes has had in one season is 12. The 2002-03 season concludes this week.
