Funeral services for Marlyene Agnes Picha, age 68, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2003, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. David Hernes will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today, Sunday, April 27, 2003, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services.
Marlyene died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.
Marlyene Agnes Picha was born Jan. 14, 193 5, to William and Agnes Day. She graduated from Wauzeka High School in Wauzeka, Wis. On July 3, 1953, Marlyene was united in marriage to Eldon Picha in Wauzeka. In addition to being a homemaker and raising her children, she worked at the Kahler Hotel and also with her husband in their business. Marlyene enjoyed watching the kids’ sporting events, sitting on her patio swing watching birds, doing puzzles, watching Westerns and playing Nintendo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and dancing with her husband. Marlyene was known for her unique laugh.
Survivors include her husband Eldon, children: Alan Picha and significant other Ruth Tennis, Chris and husband Randy Blaschko, Dawn Picha and friend Craig Gavle, and Terry and wife Chris Picha; grandchildren: Amanda Blaschko, Joe and Courtney, Emily, Sean, Taylor, and Halea Picha; great-granddaughter Kylie Jo; sister Elizabeth Cullison, brother William (Bill) Day; sisters-in-law: Loretta Oelke, Arlene Neeley and Donna Kapinos; and brothers-in-law: Larry Picha and Harold Picha.
Marlyene was preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law Patricia Day, and her mother and father-in-law.
