Norman Christianson, 67, Austin

Funeral services for Norman Christianson, of Austin, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery, Worth County, Iowa.
Mr. Christianson died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester. He was 67 years of age.
Norman was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Gordonsville, the son of Clarence and Olean (Frosager) Christianson. He was a graduate of Waterville High School in Waterville. Norman spent most of his life in Austin, and did live in Spokane, Wash., for a while. He was employed as a truck driver for Reyerson Trucking and also worked for the Hormel Co. He spent some time working as a custodian at a local nursing home, and was a mail carrier in Spokane. Norman also spent many hours driving the area bookmobile.
Norman served in the U.S. Air Force as a military policeman. In his free time, Norman enjoyed walking, spending time at the coffee shop, and reading the local news at the library.
Norman is survived by two sons: Norman Jr. and Joel, both of Seattle, Wash. Also surviving are several grandchildren; one brother, Arden and his wife Marlene Christianson of Northwood, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Geloff; and brother, Morris.
