The Freeborn County Attorney’s office charged an Albert Lea man with first-degree cocaine possession Monday, after police raided his apartment and found 538 grams of the drug, according to a criminal complaint.
Luis Prado Acosta, 41, of 504 James Ave., Apartment B114, was also charged with giving a false name to a peace officer. When police and sheriff’s deputies took him into custody during the Friday raid, he gave his name as Rosalino Noriega and provided an Oregon driver’s license with that name. A check with the Immigration and Naturalization Service revealed his real name, according to the complaint.
In the apartment, officers said they found one bag containing 461.5 grams of cocaine in the bedroom and two other small bags elsewhere in the house, the complaint said. Authorities also seized a handgun and $5,700 in cash.
A judge set Acosta’s bail at $250,000. His next court date is scheduled for May 5.
