Vera M. Rupp, 87, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Vera M. Rupp of Albert Lea will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday, April 21, 2003 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Mrs. Rupp died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Thorne Crest South Nursing Home in Albert Lea. She was 87 years of age.
Vera was born Nov. 24, 1915 in Walters, the daughter of Hardy and Anna (Skinner) Grams. She moved to Albert Lea with her parents and attended the Northside school. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1933.
Vera was employed at Three Sisters, Ben Franklin’s and Shea’s Ice Cream Parlor.
On May 9, 1942 she was united in marriage to Melvin Rupp at the brides home. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlework. Vera also loved to play cards.
Vera was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church and participated in the Church Circle.
Vera is survived by her husband of 60 years Melvin of Albert Lea, daughter Diane Kaiser of Albert Lea, son Gary Rupp of Albert Lea, grandsons Jon (Mindy) Kaiser of Mantorville, Minn., Scott Rupp of Farmington, Minn. Granddaughters Kelly Boyum of Albert Lea, Amanda Rupp of Virginia, Minn., Lynn (Matt) Appel of Eagan, Minn., Jennifer Rupp of Eagan, Minn. Great grandchildren Brittany, Nicholas, Paige, Parker, Tanner, Jessica and Josh. Also numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
