EMMONS &045; Isaiah Parry hit a two-out home run in the bottom of the 11th inning Monday to spark the Glenville-Emmons baseball team to a 5-3 victory over Mabel-Canton at Emmons.
Parry, a senior open enrollee from Albert Lea, was 4-for-4 with four RBIs for the day. He also doubled.
Mitch Meier was 2-for-4 and Alex Hansen was 2-for-5 for the Wolverines. Mike Yocom had one hit.
Parry started on the mound and pitched the first six innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits, with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Meier got the win in relief, going five innings and giving up two hits and no walks while striking out seven. He improved his record to 6-1.
&uot;Both Isaiah and Mitch pitched excellent,&uot; said coach Louie Toulouse. &uot;It was nice to see Isaiah get that big hit in the 11th, although we had numerous chances to get that big hit earlier but just did not execute. I think we can say we were lucky to win the game today.&uot;
The Wolverines improved to 7-5 overall and 6-2 in the SEC. They face Lyle/Pacelli at Emmons Thursday at 4:30.
