Charlotte Hesby, 91, formerly of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Charlotte Hesby, age 91, formerly of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. David Gray will officiate. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Emmons. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Charlotte died May 27, 2003, at North Ridge Care Center in Minneapolis.
Charlotte Hesby was born Feb. 12, 1912, to Ash and Marie (Phelps) English in Albert Lea. She attended school in Albert Lea. In 1930, Charlotte was united in marriage to Daniel Reardon. She began working for the United States Postal Service in April 1937. On March 19, 1951, Charlotte was married to Curtis Hesby in Albert Lea. She retired from the Postal Service on Aug. 31, 1971, after 34 years of service. Charlotte was an active member of the United Methodist Church, its Women’s Society, the Senior Citizens, the Rebekah Lodge and the Royal Neighbors of America. She held the office of recorder from 1955 until July 1988. Charlotte enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include her son, Thomas and wife Therese Reardon of Minneapolis, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Ash and Marie English; husband, Curtis; daughter, Marilyn Hedensten; son, Donald Reardon; and brothers: Donald and Richard English.
