Joyce Eileen Drenth, 81, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Joyce E. Drenth, age 81, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, at the Hollandale Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Gary Brouwers will officiate. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today, May 8, at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Joyce died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at her home.

Joyce Eileen Drenth was born to Arthur J. and Jesse A. (Joyce) Higgins in Teddington, England. On June 18, 1944, she was united in marriage to John H. Drenth in Teddington. The couple moved to Hollandale in 1946 and lived there until moving to Albert Lea in 1998. Joyce was a member of the Hollandale Christian Reformed Church, Library Anns, and Helping Hand Ladies Aid. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, board games, and spending time with her family.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and a great outlook on life. Joyce loved and appreciated all the little things that people did for her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, John; sons: David and wife Lee Drenth, and Chris and wife Polly Drenth; daughters: Belinda Garman, Kathy and husband Jerry Dimit, and Kay and husband Dennis Richter; grandchildren: Jade and wife Tanya Drenth, Shane Drenth, Maelynn Drenth, Emily and husband Jay Kuiters, Andy Drenth, Liz Drenth, Ashley Underdahl, and Neal Underdahl; great-grandchildren: Davontea Drenth, Destiny Drenth, Anna Kuiters, and Harmond Drenth; stepbrother, Robert and wife Ellen Webster of Aylesburg, England; niece, Rebecca and husband David Hart of England; and nephew, Barry Webster, also of England.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, a son-in-law, a grandson and a great-granddaughter.
