Lorinne M. Lu Saul, 84, Albert Lea

The memorial service for Lorinne M. &uot;Lu&uot; Saul will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. James W. Haun will officiate.

Lu was born on Nov. 21, 1918, in Colfax, Wash., the daughter of Arthur and Alice (Roussopoulos) Uggen.

She was a graduate of UCLA and throughout her career was active in elementary school education.

She married Robert “Bob” Saul on July 23, 1944, in Glendale, Calif. They moved to Ames, Iowa, in 1949, where they lived until 1977, when they moved to Albert Lea. In the last 25 years she has actively given time to Nomads, building and remodeling schools, homes, orphanages and churches throughout the U.S. and Mexico. She also volunteered time to the Habitat For Humanity, the United Methodist Church and the House of Hope.

Lu died on Tuesday morning, May 20, 2003, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

She is survived by four children: Bill, Jay, Peggi, and Cheryl. She has 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 1996.

In lieu of flowers, Lu would wish memorials be considered for the House of Hope, the United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association.
