Emily Morrison likes to be involved.
Morrison decided to get involved with different volunteer opportunities when her daughter joined 4-H. Ever since then, Morrison has been getting involved in many different places.
&uot;If my children were going to be involved with something, I wanted to be involved,&uot; she said.
Morrison has worked with Southern Minnesota Albert Lea REACT, the Big Island Rendezvous, the senior center and Good Samaritan Center. Morrison also tries to volunteer for any cause dealing with cancer because she is a cancer survivor.
Morrison said she likes to get out into the community and be with people.
&uot;If you are going to sit in front of the TV you are not going to learn anything,&uot; she said. &uot;I learn something every day.&uot;
Morrison will be leaving Albert Lea shortly because she is moving to Litchfield, Minn., to be closer to her daughter.
An open house for Morrison will be held on May 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the Story Lady Doll & Toy Museum, where she has worked since 1996.
