Vernon K. Anderson, 90, So. St. Paul, formerly of rural Glenville

Vernon K. Anderson, son of Alfred and Guida Anderson, was born Dec. 9, 1912, in the rural Glenville area. He was baptized at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. He grew up on the Anderson farm in the rural area of Round Prairie Lutheran Church where his faith was confirmed by Rev. A. C. Korsrud.

Vernon was united in marriage with Kathleen Fitzgerald on Dec. 2, 1946, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, Nev., officiated by the Rev. E. A. Wessel.

He worked in the Ford Co. Assembly Plant in St. Paul, helped build a section of the Alaska Highway, and then became a semi truck driver.

He and his family enjoyed many years of motorcycling.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of 56 years; by three daughters: Barbara Randell of Mendota Heights, Patricia Crosby of St. Anthony and Marcia of Minneapolis; and one son, Richard and wife Sally of White Bear Lake. He is also survived by sister, Ardis Patricia and husband Charles Aubrey Buser of Frederick, Md.; brother, Richard and wife Lorraine Anderson, and sister, Erliss and husband Lyle Buss, all of rural Glenville; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

One sister, Helen Wilhelm, passed away in 2002.

The funeral service for 90-year-old Vernon was conducted Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of So. St. Paul by the Rev. Frederick S. Falla. Interment was at the Glenville Lutheran Cemetery on Friday, May 9, at 2:30 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Kent Otterman.
