Berdine T. Loge, 87, Bricelyn

Berdine T. Loge, age 87, of Bricelyn, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Blue Earth.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, at the Bricelyn Lutheran Church in Bricelyn. The Rev. Edward Nieman and the Rev. Patricia Hinkie will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, June 8, at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn from 5-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Elmore.

She was born July 23, 1915, in Rome Township, Faribault County, the daughter of Martin and Caroline (Ehrich) Thompson. She married Lloyd Loge on Feb. 14, 1935, in Elmore.

Berdine was baptized on Sept. 5, 1915, at St. John’s Lutheran, rural Elmore, and she was confirmed on July 20, 1930, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Berdine was a member of the Bricelyn Lutheran Church and enjoyed her church activities. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, Birthday Club and Card Club. She was a homemaker and loved to garden and can fruits and vegetables. Berdine’s seven grandsons and their wives were special to her. She especially enjoyed visiting her great-grandchildren. They were her true joy.

Berdine is survived by two daughters: Janice and her husband Rollin Aukes of Kiester, and Corrine and her husband Gordon Erlandson of White Bear Lake, Minn.; seven grandsons: Terry and his wife Vicki Aukes of Lonoke, Ark., Randy and his wife Beth Aukes of Kiester, Allan and his wife Morray Aukes of Blue Earth, Steven and his wife Michelle Aukes of Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Scott and his wife Julie Erlandson of White Bear Lake, Doug and his wife Julia Erlandson of Black River Falls, Wis., and Dan Erlandson and his special friend Chanda Stone of White Bear Lake; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Milford Thompson of Holcombe, Wis., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Berdine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd, in 1992; three brothers: Marvin, Hervie and Glendon; one sister, Etta Hauskins; and one infant daughter.
