Daniel Christopher Peik, age 34, of Minneapolis, died at his home in Minneapolis, Friday, June 27, 2003.

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Joice, Iowa, with the Rev. Bill Peters officiating. There is no visitation, but family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lea at a later date.

Daniel Christopher Peik was born on April 14, 1969, in Albert Lea, the son of David Peik and Audrey (Nelson) Peik. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

He graduated from Albert Lea High School, class of 1987, and attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

Daniel loved to read and was very active in theater and chorale.

He had been working as a security guard for Burns International in Minneapolis.

Survivors include his mother, Audrey and her husband Tom Severson of Joice, Iowa; his father, David Peik of Mankato; one sister, Valerie and her husband Steve Mooney and their children, Andrew and Elizabeth, of Vadnais Heights; paternal grandfather, Lowell Peik of Albert Lea; uncle, Steven and his wife Linda Peik of Oelwein, Iowa; along with numerous cousins.

Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Florence Peik; maternal grandparents, Selma and Leonard Nelson; and one aunt, Joanne Booth.

The family requests that memorials be sent to: Dr. Mark Donaldson-Patient Support Fund, Fountain Center, Albert Lea.
