DODGE CENTER &045; The Glenville-Emmons American Legion baseball team shored up the defense.

The offense fell just short.

G-E, looking for improvement in the field after some recent error-filled games, played flawless defense while dropping a 2-1 game at Dodge Center Tuesday night.

&uot;It was a much better effort by our whole team,&uot; said coach Louie Toulouse. &uot;We played with a lot more enthusiasm and fire than we have lately. It was a great effort by the G-E Legion.&uot;

Alex Hansen had one of G-E’s three hits and also the lone RBI. The other hits were by Mike Yocom and Michael Greibrok.

Mitch Meier pitched all six innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out six.

&uot;It was a nice defensive effort, and Mitch pitched a pretty nice game as usual,&uot; said Toulouse.
